| Pet Portraits By Barbara Martorana I work in graphite and color pencil mediums. Graphite pencil creates beautiful black and white images that are especially adapted to show the personality of your animal. Graphite was once admired above all color mediums as it was considered to appeal to the mind and soul while color only appealed to the senses. I enjoy the look and feel that graphite lends to animal portraiture. I use only the highest quality Derwent graphite pencils in grades that rage from 7B to 4H. |
Color pencil is a vivid and verstaile medium. I can create soft, delicate lines and subdued shading as well as strong, vibrant and deep coloring. Color pencil lends itself well to create portraits with a depth of color and a realistic likeness. I use several types of Prismacolor and Derwent studio pencils. I typically use artist quality, acid-free, bristol vellum papers with both mediums. |
